Ordus Cheskull is the lively human barkeep of the Steaming Sword as well as a former adventurer and member of the Bronze Aegis. Obsessed with his adventurous youth, Ordus entertains his customers with tall and grandiose tales of epic fights and great feats of strength and wit, with some details changing slightly from retelling to retelling. Regardless of whether his customers believe him or not, Ordus' inn is filled with the apparent trophies of his conquests, the most famous of which is his Steaming Sword, the eponymous source of his establishment's name.

Description

Ordus is an elderly human male with balding, greying hair and a well-trimmed beard. He wears a simple tunic with suspenders that are bound tightly around his chest, revealing that he is still rather fit for his age. Scars are visible across his arms and legs, but his face appears clean and untouched - a quality Ordus attributes to his good looks.

Ordus is a braggart before anything else, and seems to be singularly focused on the exploits of his past; when worked up by recounting a story, it can become difficult to get his do discuss anything else. Ordus' retellings often tow the line of believability, and often change between iterations. Regardless, Ordus is still a noble man, and values fairness, reflected in the modest pricing of his establishment.

Skills and Abilities

By his own word, Ordus is a skilled swordsman, an excellent cook, a great judge of character, and a consummate gentleman.

History

If he is to be believed, Ordus was once a member of the Bronze Aegis, and he claims to have been trained in the capital of the Empire, Adalhast.

At some point Ordus left the Aegis and pursued various artifacts across the world.

Ordus eventually settled down in Reedenford, where he was born, taking a childhood friend in marriage. He opened the Steaming Sword in order to stay social in the community, sharing his tales to anyone who would lend him an ear. Ordus was generally well-received by the town, as most understood him to be good natured beyond his braggadocios attitude.

In Iron 989, the bard Ilryn Dewsong began working with Ordus on a ballad of his exploits.
