Larchest is a smaller, sparsely populated province in south-west Fusalis; its land falls under the rule of the dwarven kingdom of Dograd Hegrin, but its remote location and general lack of natural resources has made it so that the area goes generally undisturbed by outsiders. The dwarven legions do not care to venture out into the desolate land in order to collect taxes, which also means there is minimal protection in the communities of the region.

Much of Larchest is comprised of plains of windwhistle grass that stretch on for miles. This grass has a unique structure that loudly whistles in the breeze. As a result, many of the animals in the area have evolved to not rely on hearing as much as sight, smell, and taste to catch prey and evade predators. Even among animals, however, the land is sparsely populated; windwhistle produces a toxic oil that can be lethal in large enough quantities. As it is the prevailing plant life in the area, only a select few animals that can stomach the poisons can subsist off the land. From a distance, the grass glimmers like a rainbow.

Houses in Larchest are usually thoroughly soundproofed in order to manage the noise from the windwhistle. Thick, preferably oiled boots must be worn in order to stay safe from the oils of the grass. Failing to do so can lead to amputation.

There are 3 somewhat major settlements in Larchest; Nofrighast, Berspike, and Enneleine. Nofrighast, the furthest to the north, is a sad, sickly little community, the last refuge before the Dire Expanse, a large area of necrotically poisoned land.

Berspike is located to the south west, next to the Berspike Forest, one of the few places not completely overtaken by windwhistle. The forest is heavily populated by bears.

Enneleine is the most well populated town, in the south east of Larchest. It is the closest town to the rest of the kingdom, and assists in trade to the rest of the province. It is run mainly by a former merchant who wished to remove himself from larger society.
