The party continued to climb Azmok's Tower in Kinoclast. They continued upwards, freeing the "hero" Godfrey, and meeting the wizard Layton Mocksong, who was attempting to fix the damage to the magical wards surrounding Kinoclast, apparently caused by an influx of fell magic from the Nightspell Marches. The party fought the fanatical Godfrey, eventually subduing him. They then chose to try and fix the wards by funneling magic into the control device, effectively pushing the ward across the continent, and beyond.

- Wander found a screaming sword, which everyone consistently failed to inspect, and an ornate white cape
- The group continued, meeting another image of Azmok, who challenged them to a game of "Sheep Wolf Man"
- Upon a loss, the loser would be shocked by an electrical panel on the ground
- Wander was shocked over and over again as he lost over and over
- They entered a room with a giant lamp, a man contained inside, and a small sentient flame lighting the bottom of it
- The group attempted to break the glass using the screaming sword, to no avail
- They moved the flame to a candle, bringing him up to the wick above the man
- As the wick burned, the path upwards opened, and a ladder came down
- The group ascended, and Leadbelly freed the man with his rope
- The man introduced himself as Godfrey, a hero from Sanaris who wished to fix the "problems" of the area
- He ran from the group to kill the wizard of the tower
- They watched as Godfrey found his sword, and effortlessly cut through a stone golem during his ascent
- At the top of the tower, the party found Godfrey chasing the wizard Layton
- Grognock tackled the hero, pinning him down as the rest talked to Layton
- Godfrey freed himself, and attacked the party
- During the battle, Seamus was splashed with a strange black vial, coating his left arm in a tar-like substance
- The party managed to knock Godfrey unconscious after a rough battle, successfully protecting Layton
- They overloaded the magical matrix surrounding the town full of energy, pushing the range of the wards far beyond the reaches of the continent
