The most northernly and tallest mountain tops inside the Empire of Miradorium compose the political entity known as the Realm of the High Peaks ruled by a race of goat men known as Balphonets. What they rule are little more than a series of high altitude settlements only one of which Ephis is large enough to regarded as a city. They pay tribute to the Emperor each year to ensure their autonomy. There main crop at such high altitude is Skirret a hardy root that is surprisingly sweet. Due to the often fatal ascent up the mountain range few outsiders ever visit the Realm of the High Peaks and those that do usually use Zorga Balloons.
