The Summer Maze gets its name from the fact it only appears in summer. The maze is made not with bushes but with the Vexara plant of the deep deserts which spends most of the year underground but shoots up to ten feet tall in the brief summer rains experienced in that part of the empire. They are brought to life by the palace gardeners once a year.
