Arthan Red was the ruler of Aclea and one of the original Seven Lords appointed by High King Aelarian II. He was the son of Taenaran of House Red, a noble family that governed Aclea, the largest province of the western lands. Following his father’s death, he inherited the title of Duke of Aclea and later ascended to kingship. After being named king, Arthan absorbed the other noble houses of the western provinces, consolidating them under a single rule to form a united Aclea. His reign emphasized military expansion and internal stability, establishing the foundation for Aclea’s long-standing dominance.
He also introduced the tradition of gladiator fights and arena games, both as entertainment and a means to cultivate a warrior culture. Over the centuries, Aclea’s military strength has contributed to its territorial growth, expanding its borders with each era of history.
