Eredonia

The continent of Eredonia contains a variety of regions, kingdoms, cities and characters to explore and adventure with.

The land has been ruled and dominated by one race, the Elves, for over 100 millennia. About eleven thousand years ago, a great Magical War broke out between two noble Elf families that led to the birth of many other species, such as Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes and Humans. These free peoples rebelled against the ruling Borro Elves, causing a Favelion War, but after victory, they drove the Borro Elves back to the far north of Esa. The human race has become the dominant force of the continent since then and for thousands of years.

Short history lesson

Eredonia is a gigantic landmass that stretched thousands of miles, with parts of land, flora and wildlife picked from many different places in our universe. And with it came intelligent life. An alien species and like humanity, they too stood on 2 legs and had 2 arms on each side of their torso. They were longer on average and had small pointed ears. Their appearance was graceful and their skin was always clear as daylight. They live long; they could easily live up to a millennium. Not long after this land was fully created, two of these beings happened to come across a stone sticking out of the earth surrounded by a patch of grass and when they set their eyes on it, they felt enchanted by its sheer power. Together they tried to pull the stone from its place, releasing energy that would bind the two together forever. After hearing about this connection, the two men named Ereth Borro and Doniath Lofus split their ways and ventured out into the world.

Ereth Borro founded a settlement in the western forests of the island. The island the two families now called "Eredonia.” These forests would soon be called 'Borrorain Forest'. Doniath Lofus, on the other hand, decided to renounce his kind and occupy the area around the northeastern lake. This lake would soon be known as 'Lofus Lake'. But it wasn't long before these people started to explore the huge island. While the people of Borro were only too happy to stay and build a home that would last for hundreds of thousands of years, the people of Lofus were much more adventurous and free-spirited. Which the people of Borrorain looked down upon. They were more haughty and withdrawn and even believed they were superior to others. Therefore, the two families never seemed to think about reuniting with each other. This race of beings is a unique kind of organism, it wasn't long before they discovered that they could bend different types of energy to their will, and they called it "magic." The life stone never stopped radiating life energy to the world and these humanoid creatures used the stone's life force to cast spells and other magical effects such as curses. It made them very powerful and helped these people build a society that would soon be the rulers of this world. But some Lofus people did not want to use this power only for good and gave birth to "dark magic." Magic used to kill and destroy, rather than create or help. Of course, the Borro Aelvari were not happy about those actions and were not reluctant to suppress these users of dark magic.

And so began the first war of many to come. Wars that took centuries and many lives. And when it was done, it would take even more time for the world to return to normal. With the amount of life force expended fighting these wars, the stone erupted a new wave of energy that brought more life from various places in the universe. Among these life forms were humans and it would not be long before they populated most of Eredonia. People did not agree with these creatures, which they called 'Aelvari', which was actually known to the people as a term of abuse. They disagreed because the Aelvari believed they could rule over them only because of their powerful magic. This belief laid the foundations for another gigantic war in which people rebelled against the elves and with the help of the leader of the Lofus people, who shared their opinion, the Borro people were driven back to the Borrorain forest. The Elven leader of the Lofus people was crowned king of the free peoples. After this, the Lofus elves became more common among other races, such as Humans and Delverkin. The age of man had begun.

The head of the Lofus family, Aelarian II, who was named High King of the Free Peoples, appointed Seven Lords to rule the different areas around the continent to ensure the aversion to chaos. These lords were blessed with long life and their descendants are the rightful rulers of their assigned territory. After the death of Aelarian Lofus, the seven lords form a new union called the High Table. But after 200 years of successful reign, the High Table falls apart when one of the seven lords becomes entangled in an evil conspiracy and attempts to take over key territories, only to be defeated in battle and banished from the mainland. It marked the beginning of the weakening power of the descendants of the seven lords. Kingdoms fall apart and cease to exist. The monarchy structure of only two kingdoms has survived the exhaustion of time and has remained so. The human kingdoms.

Human regions:

Gaiza
Gaiza is located in the center of Eredonia. The Eastern Kingdom rules this area. The eastern kingdom considers itself the oldest of the human nations. A monarchy by name, it functions more like a republic as the king rules jointly with the Supreme Court. It is considered the most stable of all human kingdoms. The ruler of the kingdom, Lucas Sevar, is descended from one of the seven lords, Beras Sevar. This makes him the rightful king of the Eastern Kingdom and Gaiza. All races are welcome here, but it is dominated by humans. Gaisans are slender people with tawny skin and brown hair that ranges from almost blond to almost black. Most are tall and have green or brown eyes, but these traits are hardly universal.

Aclea
Aclea is located in the northwest of Eredonia. The towns and villages are widely scattered along the entire coast of the northwestern edge. The Western Kingdom rules this area. The ruler of the western kingdom is a descendant of one of the seven lords, making it the righteous king of the realm. The people of the western kingdom are not seen as very friendly people. They can be incredibly fierce and extremely territorial. The richest top of the human nobility owns a lot of land here. Perhaps the richest in the world. The Acleans are of medium build and height, with dark skin that tends to lighten farther north, towards the lands of Esa. Their hair and eye color varies widely, but brown hair and blue eyes are most common.

Other regions:
In addition to the human territories and kingdoms, there are even more regions ruled by multiple kings or by chaos itself.

Ascurg
Ascurg is located in the south-east of Eredonia, just below Roma Efrea. It is a large wetland with many small islands. The inhabitants are often mixed with the inhabitants of Roma Efrea. Ascurgens tend to be short, stocky and muscular. They usually have dark skin, dark eyes and thick black hair.

Athil
Athil is located in the middle of Eredonia, just above Gaiza, with probably the most varied population. All Races are here. The people who live here are generally tall and muscular, with dark mahogany skin, curly black hair and dark eyes.

Broga
Broga is located in the far north of Eredonia. It contains several vast mountain ranges that are the homeland of the dwarven clans. The high mountains are mainly inhabited by Dwarves, but other Races also live in the various villages. Brogans are of medium height and build, with skin tones ranging from light to brown. Their hair is usually brown or black and their eye color varies widely, although brown is most common.

Aesa
Esa is located in the north-west of Eredonia, above Aclea. Most of the inhabitants are Elves, who hide in the dense forests of the Borrorain Forest. But there are also villages where Humans and other Races live. Esanen are tall people with light skin and blue or steel gray eyes. Most have raven black hair, but those who live in the far north have blond, red or light brown hair.

Roma
The area that included both Roma Astium and Roma Efrea was originally called Allora. It was once the center of the greatest civilization in the world and its influence stretched far and wide. The capital was Castra Norba and from this point the High King of the Free Peoples, Aelarian II, ruled over Eredonia. Since the death of Aelarian and the departure of his bloodline, the power of the city and the empire surrounding it has weakened dramatically. The majority of the population left the area. Until in 2978 ADM the Roman Empire took over the country and centralized their power in Castra Norba. Races other than Humans were detested and unwelcome, leading to the great westward migration that greatly increased the diversity of society in the rest of Eredonia.

Demoña
The landscape of Demoña is formed from lava flows left behind by ancient volcanic eruptions. Scattered around were strange stone pillars and rock formations, smoothed by the wind into natural sculptures. Everywhere the terrain was unforgiving and the temperature changed dramatically. Few outsiders entered Demoña, and fewer lingered there long enough to explore. It was believed to be a cold and harsh wasteland of ferocious monsters and an evil land shunned and little spoken of by even the bravest of adventurers.

Demograpics:

According to scientists, the population of Eredonia consists of about 13 million humanoid races. Estimates place the different breeds as follows:

Humans: 9 to 10 million

Elves: 1,000,000 to 1,200,000

Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings: 600,000 to 700,000

Half-Elves: 300,000 to 350,000

Demoni/Orc: 50,000 to 60,000

Goblins: 50,000 to 55,000

Half-Demoni/Orcs: 45,000 to 50,000

Hobgoblins & Firbolgs: 40,000 to 45,000

Goliaths: 35,000 to 40,000

Satyrs, Tieflings, Kobolds: 30,000 to 35,000
