Previous Episode: Sands of Time - S01 E07
Picking up from the previous session, the adventurers found themselves in the dungeon beneath the storage room, facing two stone golems. Juulia Troski solved the riddles of the golem on the right and ventured down the right hallway, while the rest waited for the coast to clear before entering the dungeon themselves. They chose the golem on the left, solved its riddles, and encountered a circular room with five armored, red-eyed chickens. After defeating three chickens, they persuaded the remaining two to join their group. Meanwhile, Juulia navigated through a trapped room and looted two chests, finding an elven cloak and some coins. She destroyed a third chest with a firebolt, losing its magical contents. She encountered a talking metal door that granted her access to a magical storage room after she befriended it. Taking two items, she rejoined the group.
Reunited, the adventurers discovered a wooden crate containing Grator Longfront, the leader of the gnome fisher's guild, who revealed that Billy Ryler had captured him. Investigating a suspicious stone wall, they persuaded the magical bricks to reveal a hidden office where Billy Ryler awaited. Billy admitted he had sold the Sands of Time and the Time Key back to the Coins & Cloaks guild but promised to help the adventurers infiltrate the guild's fortress. Through a portal, they arrived at the entrance of the fortress, a shipwrecked vessel named Mary's Crimson Cutter, the former ship of Captain John Cutter. Inside, Juulia disguised herself as Midoros but encountered the real Midoros, sparking a battle the adventurers won with the help of their chickens, although one chicken perished. They moved to John Cutter's bedroom, where they fought a mimic and found loot.
In a larger lower deck, they encountered the mercenary group they met in the mountain pass, now hired by the Coins and Cloaks guild. Members of Billy Ryler's gang also appeared, leading to a tense standoff. Suddenly, a lieutenant demanded the Sands of Time, but was shot dead by Captain John Cutter, who revealed Abby's true nature as the Sands of Time, magically transformed into a child. Chaos erupted as everyone tried to capture Abby. Juulia cast a fog cloud, and Jack ‘Jacky’ Can summoned a rowboat, creating an escape route. The adventurers managed to escape into the water, losing one chicken in the process, and rowed to safety, ending the session.
