Previous Episode: The Significant Treasure - S02 E11

Thor Battlehammer, Diggy Holderhek, Juul Troski, and Danté Galanodel received a parting gift from the Doler before he left—a sword named Daiema, which Diggy now possessed. The sword had the unique power to store the souls of its slain enemies. After leaving the dungeon, the group witnessed their friends shaking hands with Char-Iz in the marble temple dedicated to Sabrael, feeling betrayed. As they traveled further, a fierce storm forced them to seek refuge in a local tavern called the Dog and Bastard. Inside, they met 8 people:

During the night, a scream echoed through the tavern. The players found Parletothraxus and Lady Genevieve murdered in their bed. The group began investigating the deaths, first accusing Baron Roosterlick of killing them out of jealousy, but the baron had a solid alibi. They then suspected Septimus Drake, but he dismissed the notion since he didn’t see infidelity as a crime. The storm continued to rage, forcing everyone to stay another night. Later, another loud noise revealed Septimus Drake dead in his room, escalating tensions. The players found themselves under suspicion, leading to a violent confrontation. As the fight unfolded, the truth came to light:

  • Balotelli had killed Lady Genevieve out of attraction to Parletothraxus, but Baron Roosterlick then killed Parletothraxus out of jealousy.
  • Occipitus Pendrangle, Oskar Buutlichen, and Bariusz Buutlichen had conspired to kill Septimus Drake—to hide Occipitus’ involvement in cultist activities, allow Oskar to steal Drake’s money, and free Bariusz from his service.

The conspirators attempted to kill the players to cover up their crimes, but after a fierce battle, the players emerged victorious. However, as dawn broke, they were arrested by Western soldiers and taken prisoner in carts.
