Previous Episode: The Significant Treasure - S02 E13
The second episode of the season finale starts after Char-Iz and the Doler's betrayal in the throne room, the players headed toward the Tree of Life, near the coast of Redhaven. The once majestic tree, now losing its leaves, symbolized the kingdom’s despair. Hidden beneath the tree, they found the entrance to the Underworld and descended down a long staircase into the depths below. Their journey led them to the city of Catatonia, where they sought guidance at the Temple of Sabrael. During their visit, they learned of Billy Ryler, a man who could help them. In a surprising turn, Danté Galanodel reappeared, having been reincarnated into a half-orc fighter named Virgil. The group reunited and visited Billy Ryler, who reluctantly agreed to assist them. Billy informed them of a black-market auction, where the platinum disk might be sold. To raise funds, the group decided to sell Virgil (formerly Danté) to bid on the disk. However, the platinum disk was sold for a staggering 2 million gold to Lord Darkwell, leader of the Shadow Guild . Realizing they had to resort to a heist, Billy helped the group plan it, adding one of his own men—Bryath, to form Billy’s Nine.
The heist began at Lord Darkwell’s manor, and while the group successfully looted the vault, Diggy had to face an old nemesis, Bromdrum Lutgher, in an intense fight. Diggy emerged victorious, and they fled with the platinum disk. However, Billy betrayed them, revealing that he was actually William the Sly, a notorious criminal. The group killed him before he could escape. With the platinum disk in hand, Juul used its power to boost his abilities, preparing to confront Char-Iz and the Doler. They made their way back to the palace, where a final showdown awaited them. Char-Iz, sensing their betrayal, cast a deadly spell that slowly killed Diggy, as Juul hesitated. In the last moment, Juul used the platinum disk to strip Char-Iz of his powers, but the Doler leaped into the path, saving Char-Iz, who disappeared. The Doler, now powerless, was left defeated on the ground. As the players absorbed the moment, the sound of horns echoed through the city, and the rumble of thousands of men marching filled the air. Approaching the window, they saw a massive army preparing to besiege the city.
