As one of Aclea's principal ports, Lastshore has a slightly larger foreign population than most cities in the kingdom. Nevertheless, humans remain overwhelmingly dominant, and the city's customs and governance strongly reflect the conservative values of the Western Kingdom.

Overview
Situated on a rocky peninsula along Aclea's southwestern coast, Lastshore overlooks the narrow strait separating the mainland from the Isle of Lastshore. The city controls one of the kingdom's safest western harbors and serves as Aclea's principal naval and fishing port after RedhavenIts sheltered waters, abundant fisheries and commanding position along the coast have made it an important maritime settlement for centuries. Although smaller than Redhaven, Lastshore plays a vital role in defending the kingdom's western shores and supplying much of Aclea with fish and salt.

The Lighthouse of Lastshore
Standing atop the cliffs overlooking the strait, the Beacon of Lastshore is among the oldest continuously maintained lighthouses in EredoniaOriginally little more than a watchfire, it was rebuilt in stone during the reign of Serathan Red VII. Every evening its great brazier is lit, guiding fishermen and naval vessels safely through the narrow waters between the mainland and the island. For sailors of the Western Kingdom, the sight of the beacon has long symbolized a safe return home after months at sea.

History
The peninsula that now holds Lastshore was first settled by fishermen long before the unification of Aclea. The offshore island created a naturally protected anchorage where boats could safely shelter from the violent western storms that frequently battered the coastline. When Arthan Red united the western lands, he recognized the harbor's strategic importance and ordered a wooden watchtower and small garrison to protect the growing fishing settlement. As the town expanded, stone quays and defensive walls replaced the original fortifications. The city's name emerged naturally among sailors. For many generations, it was the last secure harbor before ships ventured into the unpredictable waters of the western ocean. Captains would replenish supplies, repair their vessels and pray for safe passage before departing. In time, the settlement became known simply as Lastshore. Serathan Red II commissioned the city's first permanent naval docks, allowing royal patrol ships to be stationed year-round. Serathan Red V strengthened the harbor defenses following increased pirate raids across the western coast. Serathan Red VII ordered the construction of the great lighthouse overlooking the strait, greatly improving navigation through the narrow channel.

Military Presence
As Aclea's second naval city, Lastshore maintains a permanent military presence dedicated to coastal defense.Approximately 2,000 professional soldiers. Around 80 Red Knights, primarily serving as naval commanders and royal representatives. Royal Coastal Fleet permanently stationed within the harbor. City Watch numbering roughly 500. During wartime, Lastshore becomes the primary staging point for naval patrols along Aclea's western coastline and serves as a secure harbor for ships protecting merchant and fishing vessels.

Lastshore's economy revolves around the sea and the surrounding peninsula. Its primary industries include:
  • Commercial fishing
