A large spiral tower that leads high into the sky, built within the center of Old Eskors, remains it's stood there for centuries. To head up would lead to an observatory, to head below would lead to a sort of dungeon. A deep delve into the world beneath Lumen. Often, nearby residents will travel into the dungeon to acquire low-grade crystals to trade with Authority forces, but only the brave few delve any deeper than the first floor.
The spire today, now it's used as a means of survival by the prisoners of Old Eskor, it’s the largest source of magical crystal on the continent, a resource that allows creatures to survive down here. The locals travel down to the first floor and will typically hunt or scavenge, with some even tending to farms built down there. Despite the reliance on a magical crystal, few ever travel beyond the first floor, and fewer return from going beyond it. As time passed, expeditions into the spire became routine, with biweekly Authority visitors the region became “peaceful”. Decades of cooperation between the prisoners and those who trapped them, Old Eskor and the spire became its own unique world.
