- The Frostbrood remaining after Kyldaross's death may be shifting their allegiance to The One Who Lurks Beneath the Ice. The party has seen at least one (Khuvik Khalukeaku) do so.
Those colloquially known as the Frostbrood are humanoids who swore allegiance to Kyldaross and his kin. Frostbrood go through varying degrees of transformation — some merely gain glyphs on their skin, while others take on an almost elemental nature — though it remains unclear what determines the extent. As further reward for their loyalty, the Frostbrood are afforded several boons, among them enhanced magical abilities, elemental resistances, and increased vitality. There is some speculation that at least some of the Frostbrood gained limited telepathic abilities as well, though there is little proof.
Few who have undergone the transformation have attempted — or wanted — a return to their previous form. Those few who have, however, have found that freeing themselves of Kyldaross's influence is no small feat — even after the great dragon's death.
