"Haedôr" in Elvish script

Far across the sea lies the ancient, chaotic, and magical realm of the Feywilds. It is a continent unlike any others, dominated by powerful and ancient magicks. It is said that to get to the Feywilds while trying to get to them requires a immense level of skill and luck, as the Feywilds seem to generally attract those who aren't looking for it, specifically those who are lost. The continent is surrounded on all sides by a thick mist which obscures it from view. Through ritual or by random chance, the mist will allow you to enter the Feywilds. Otherwise, mariners will simply sail through and find themselves on the other end of the continent. This "shortcut" represents a tempting prize for many traders, as it can cut weeks off of travel time. However, it comes with great risk. Passing the fog and coming within eyesight of the Feywilds (which can happen randomly) causes an inverse effect. Instead of being unable to enter the wilds, they will be unable to leave until the Wilds "decide" to let them. As an ancient Eladrin proverb states: "The Wilds hold on to what they catch."

As the name suggests, the Feywilds are home to the Fey, a race of a magical and chaotic beings who migrated to the wilds from their home plane of Arborea. They are incredibly playful and revel in trickery, however, they lack inhibition, and their "pranks" often leave normal people dead or under powerful spells/curses. Because of this, though cloaked in unearthly beauty, the Feywilds are a very dangerous place to those unaware of its nature.

The largest civilized group in the Feywilds is the Eladrin, Elves who came to the Feywilds centuries ago and became infused with the wild magicks there. In the Feywilds, the Eladrin have erected vast and beautiful cities, which are the safest places in the Feywilds.

To the Elves, the Feywilds are called Haedôr, meaning "Far Land".
