The Lord Protectors of 400, also called Kingly’s Kings in its early days, was a legendary adventuring party known for its critical role in the Gebul Affair, Ennoblement Tragedy, and early stages of Malagazh's War. The party was formed following the kidnapping of Himilqo Addir by unknown parties. Himilqo’s mother, Archon Adonyah Addir, sought out the Oracle of Kardunash who told her to write four letters to ask for help. He then took the letters and burned them in a ritual. The letters magically appeared in the pockets of Unknown, Naf'na, Unknown, and Hops, and they made their way to the island of Kardun to save the child. Stopping at a tavern, they picked up J.O. Kingly, a skilled bard and trickster working as a tavern hand.
The party was named Lord Protectors of the Realm in V 400 by then-Shahzedin Cordos Pelegon. Following his coronation as Cordos I following the Ennoblement Tragedy, the Lord Protectors served crucial in solving the mystery of the regicide and became close allies of Shahanshah Cordos.
The party disappeared while seeking the Widower's Blade, succeeding in entering the crypt but being presumably killed by whatever lay inside.
