Appearance
The Widower's Blade is a gargantuan silver-white greatsword. It is nearly ten feet long and is incredibly heavy to wield.
History
The marriage of Elvish King Felaern and the Knight Merlodion the Red was one of such powerful love, that even Vessia Herself attended their wedding and blessed their union. The two lived together in happiness for many centuries. However, the Dark Lord Malagazh came upon the Prince Merlodion and struck him down in a sinister surprise attack.
The Dark Lord took the Prince's hand as a trophy and left him to die on the field. Merlodion survived long enough to be rescued by his husband, but it was too late, and he died in the night.
The King was brought to the ultimate grief at the loss of his love, and he wailed in agony. Vessia appeared once more before the King and She too was enraged and greatly saddened by the death of such a love. She took the wedding band off of Felaern's finger and plunged Her hand into Her chest, pulling out a sword which would be the King's grief and torment made into physical form. This weapon was the manifestation of the widower's pain, and one of the only weapons which could truly injure the Dark Lord.
Malagazh and his armies came to Lysbar shortly after, and in his blind grief and rage, the King set out to face the Dark Lord in single combat to gain vengeance. Neither he nor his sword were ever seen again, and his great city was laid to ruin shortly after.
