Sothon the Radiant, often called The Radiant One, was the first Veiled Lord. They are worshipped by the Veiled Ones as the patron deity of their city, with daily sacrifices and prayers given in their honor.
Due to the secrecy and isolation of the Veiled Ones, not much is known about Sothon. However, according to scholars of the University of Norsalos, the following facts are known:
- Unlike the Veiled Ones, Sothon had bright blue eyes
- It is possible that Sothon is the initiator of the veiling ritual amongst the Veiled Ones, as the Veiled Ones' word for "veil" is "sothis"
- Sothon is invariably depicted in a crown which resembles either a star or sunburst which covers their eyes much like a Veiled Ones' veil
- In contrast to the gloom and darkness of the Shadowfell, Sothon is said to have literally glowed with golden divine radiance
- Sothon was a powerful warrior and magician who taught the Veiled Ones many arcane and ancient crafts
It is speculated by some scholars that Sothon the Radiant is in fact Unknown or Sethen’s child by Sha.
Sothon is described in myths as genderless, passing fluidly between masculine, feminine, and all other genders.
