The Imperial House of Nishi is the royal family of Aika, though in the modern day their power has greatly diminished in the face of the Shogun.

The House of Nishi is credited with building the Hall of One Thousand Chrysanthemums, a castle which sits in the heart of Nishima. The city grew around the castle in the days of the emperor's supreme authority, and while the emperor still reigns in Nishima, they are de facto subservient to the Shoguns of the Takeya Clan in the modern day.

The names of members of the House of Nishi always end in "-hito," an honorific referring to one of the highest moral virtues. It is illegal for anyone outside of the House of Nishi (including blood relatives of other houses) to use the honorific in their names. Bastards of the House of Nishi have the suffix "-hano" on their names, denoting their Imperial blood.
