A typical nuqab, atop the back of an anqall


A nuqab is the predominant form of settlement of the Badawi Q'karA nuqab is a town complex constructed atop the backs of the gargantuan Anqall, which migrate across the Dune Sea in search of food and water. A typical nuqab can hold approximately 500 to 400 people. 

Life in a nuqab is densely packed and communal. Badawi are required to make use of a variety of engineering and architectural skills to make the nuqabs stable upon the constant swaying and shaking of the anqall. Despite this, nuqabs are typically described as accomodating and comfortable by visitors. To cover the smell of animals incenses are near-constantly burned, giving the air of a nuqab a distinct flavor.
