The Clans of the Badawi, called the Q'kar (meaning “guardians”), are the various tribes of the Badawi.
The name refers to the divinely ordained purpose of the Q'kar, as guardians of the Anqall. Members of a Q'kar have the name al-Q'kar in their full name, though it is often omitted when names are shortened due to their uniformity amongst the Badawi people (for example, Prince Ulam-el Sazam's full name was Ulam-el al-Q'kar Sazam).
While the Q'kar may squabble amongst themselves, all agree that the Dune Sea is the realm of the Badawi people and will fiercely unite against outside invasion. Most recently, this occurred during Pelegon's Folly, when Pelegon VI foolishly marched into the Ba'hram Desert, expecting to easily subjugate the disunited tribes, only to be met with a grand alliance of Badawi tribes and Med'ny city states which soundly defeated and slew him at the Battle of Red Sands.
