The Long Winter was an extended winter that happened during the Death Walker Crisis. The Long Winter occurred because the undead army of the Death Walkers besieged the Sancturary of the Order of the Time Sages, interfering with their abilities to direct the flow of time and seasons, causing a winter that lasted for an extra two months. The Long Winter led to mass famines around the world, killing more people through starvation than even the Death Walkers had.
