The Death Walker Crisis was a conflict fought between the Cult of Donere and the forces of Beldkind. The Cult, after discovering a lost tome of Necromancy, were able to animate a vast army of undead. This horde of the undead swept over civilization from a point centered in northern Yekare. The brunt of the fighting was felt by the empires of Urum and Dury. Dury was destabilized to such an extent that the Gulkysteni Revolution and eventual collapse of the Empire are traced to cracks formed or widened during the Crisis.
During the crisis, the Order of the Time Sages came under sufficient attack to interfere with the carrying out of their duties, leading to a winter which lasted two months longer than usual. The resulting famine killed more than the war had and led to even more destabilization.
