Guild of Litigants

The Guild of Litigants does not have a monopoly on litigation, just expertise. They handle contracts and other legal transactions on behalf of various clients (usually other guildsmen) and can be hired to argue a client’s case before some court. This is a powerful urban guild and litigants often hold powerful positions in the administration of towns. Litigants are rarely tolerated in rural areas where justice is more paternalistic and the privilege of the feudal nobility. Typical prices for simple wills, deeds, and contracts are 12-36sp, while court appearances range from 12-48sp per day depending on the litigant’s expertise and past successes.

Badge: Gules, a bordure gold, a fleece of the second.
