- Askelon goes to the House of Roses to study the spell he wants to create. He shows someone the essence he collected. He is told the essence is very powerful and to seek a more powerful Lyahvi mage. As long as he practices, he should be able to create the spell within a year or so.
- Faelon heads to a physician to investigate the whereabouts of someone he is hunting. The physician has well-paying customers, but his rates aren't all that high. There is another physician in town named Anfla Daasain. Orton is thinking about moving to a different town. He does not have knowledge of folks Faelon is hunting. Wonders around for a bit, finding Anfla. He is from Trierzon. He is interesting, gentle, and knowledgeable. The young teenage boy assistant might be more than an assistant.
- Zareen is searching for information on any Drughu who have come through town. go talk to Ferd. As a matter of fact, a goliath came through here. He was looking to acquire a mount big enough for him. Go to the Crown and Apple and see Karo. He has a shire horse. Heard he was headed west. Does not know anything about a black belt. Lebiras Paril says Karo is her brother. They still have the shire horse. The horse's name is Goliath. Karo is sitting, chewing on straw. He appears to be doing nothing. 2 stable boys are currying some horses. Goliath (the horse) is there. Asks if he is in a talking mood. "How much is Goliath?" 75 gold. Not willing to sell, but will rent him. Canvases the area to see if he can get the horse out. He would have to equip the horse, open the correct gates. Heads back to the inn to drink ale.
- Nyx is feeling a pull to the north. She is drawn to the temple of Sarajin. A couple of people are in there, northmen. They remind her of people in Chelemby. They are tall, blonde, blue eyes. The man at the altar looks at her, drops to one knee and says" Blessed, please enter. We are graced. May I approach." He walks towards her. Reaches for the brooch "the symbols of Idjar? We have not seen them in our temple. You have his aura. May I have a blessing?" A few moments later "Have I offended you, mistress? May I inquire where you obtained this brooch?" "It was gifted to me by Idjar.' "I am so jealous. Please, I must have your blessing." Rolls insight check. NAT 1. She feels a warmth in her chest. He falls flush with peace and pleasure. "I would be most honored if you would share the story of how Idjar gave you this wonderful relic?"
- Rook was asking Lebiras where to find things. Instruments, ceramic, maps. Mention her and he will get a 10% discount. Rook heads to the toy shop. Looks to buy an ocarina. They have several. Rook is looking for a nicer one, which they have. There is a replica to the dragon Hoban was playing with. Rook asks for a toy sword that would hold up to a beating. They do. "Short, long, scimitar?" "One like mine, and a couple daggers." "I was told this is a Boken." "That works, these will be perfect." Rook pays 7 gold. "I got this Boken from a handsome fellow and his wife. I don't remember exactly how long ago, but less than 10 day ago. Looking for a monastery." "Did he have an accent?" "Yes. She did not speak. She was demure. She carried a wicked weapon. The shaft was 5ft long. The blade was a broad, curved thing with a hook at the end. I respect anyone that can wield that weapon. They both had the most beautiful silk clothing with embroidery. Dragons and tigers. Rook knows this sounds like Faelon. Meets Nyx and asks her to go to the Melderyn Scents shop with him. Looking for a couple of sprays. The Aenarin pulls out a little vial. sets it on the counter. Gives Rook a little mist to smell. It is exactly what Rook is looking for. "I am looking to prank a friend. A smell of someone who has been out in the nasty all day long." "Can you come back in about an hour" "Yes" Runs into Hjalgrimm at the Thayan Mercantyler's Hall. Returns after getting kicked out of the goldsmith. 2gp for each of the concoctions.
- Hjalgrimm heads to the Thayan Mercantyler's Hall. Rook, Nyx, Zareen in tow.
- Oberall at the Kephryn Global Trade. Hjalgrimm asks if they have a tankard of plenty. The guy sets a big mug on the table. The guy speaks a couple words and the cup fills. Hjalgrimm chugs it and asks his friends for help paying the 320 gold. They help him. He gives one gem back to Hjalgrimm. Hjalgrimm gives the gem to Zareen.
- Ladros Iachome at the Iachome Goldsmith. He is one of the guys at the ceremony last night. All kinds of chains, ceremonial regalia, lots of stuff. 2 cabinets with jewelry. "Good day! I am honored! Our special guests!" "(Zareen) I am looking for magical rings." "I have 2 rings. and a 10% discount." Fiddles with keys and a heavy metal safe door. Sets an exquisite silver and gold rind appears to be a wave crashing in on itself. Describes it as a ring of water elemental command. It is 65k gold. Puts it away. The second ring looks like a rams head on a silver and black band. Ring of the Ram. Will let it go for 500 gold. Zareen persuades him down to 450 gp, she then tries to intimidate him and we are kicked out, removed by the guards.
- Kaisa at the Tarian Apothecary, a Gnomish woman, greets us. Hjalgrimm asks if she has some Blinding Powder. She has all kinds of trinkets and tubes and brass and stuff. a third of the shop is an odd assortment of that stuff. She shows a few powders that can do some nifty things! When she opened the powder drawer, it has bullets in it. She quickly closes it. Smoke bombs are 2gp each. The flash powder is 2gp per pouch. Hjalgrimm buys 2 smoke bombs and a pouch of powder. Rook buys the other 3 smoke bombs.
- When the group exited Iachome's Goldsmith shop looking a bit shellshocked, they noticed that directly across the street was a sign that read "Irel Maps" with a small symbol of the Lexigraphers’ Guild in the corner.
- Merlis Chateme, a male Human, seems distracted. It does not take you long to determine that the quality of the goods he offers seem to be more in line with the expectations of tourists than with actual explorers. Even at that, the costs are not as low as you would expect.
- There is a map of Genin Trail available, but you're concerned that it looks a bit amateurish and stylized. By the time you decide to head out to visit the other Lexigrapher, Merlis has asked if you're traveling north. If you are, he would pay for information about his sons Narin and Valstan who head left for Geldeheim up in Orbaal.
- Up around Irel street, left into Tarien Wharf, and then down Horka Way. Along the way you pass The Lady's Arms and Armor shop that looks VERY pricey, Kaisa's apothecary that you visited, and a wide variety of guilded shops.
- You end up at Thayan Maps and Tomes. Quite an interesting place. An attractive Aenarin couple run this place, along with at least a dozen cats. One of the cats is tabby-striped, but in shades of green. The ground floor is half store front, a quarter library, and a quarter organized storage. There are two youngish Aenarin busily scribing and copying.
- Besenid Pathir introduces himself and asks if there is anything in particular your discerning eye is searching for. He seems quite polite and earnest. You can tell that the quality in this place is much higher. Glancing at the shelves you can see that there books that appear to be written in several different languages, but mostly Hârnic. There appear to be many scroll tubes and map tubes, and several maps spread out on some tables. MUCH higher quality than on Irel Street.
- He does shuffle a map to the top of the pile, turns it to face you, and it is Genin's Trail, from Thay to Tashal. It is normally used by Caravan Masters. It does show Kaldor as far west as Olokand, but no further. It has marks where campsites are expected, and many towns labeled along the route. He will part with it for 5gp, but then he realizes that you're the heroes he heard about, and drops it to 4gp and includes the case. Do you want it? Yes, they buy it, and hand it to Hjalgrimm.
- One major thing that would probably happen before we leave town would be Rook giving the swords to Faelon and telling him about the toy shop. Faelon, do you wish to take any actions after hearing this?
- Hjallgrimm, when you approach Lebiras to ask her your question, she interrupts you before you can get two words out. "Ah, glad you're back! Turns out the kids are back, and the Mayor wishes an audience as soon as possible, before the planned celebration in Poleryn Square."
