Rulf operates the Royal Mint of Melderyn in the city of Thay, just southwest of busy Melesen Square. Known as Rulf the Moneyer, he is a master in the Jewelers’ Guild, and is head of the wealthy Iachome clan. his younger brother Lodros Iachome runs Iachome Goldsmith.
Rulf is of average height, but stout. He dresses in the finest colorful silks and fur-trimmed worsted wools. He prefers loose fitting, flowing tunics and knee length gowns; he is seldom seen without a fur-trimmed cap. He keeps his beard neatly trimmed and his brown wavy hair long. Rulf frequently entertains his fellow aldermen and important guildsmen.
Rulf has a license from Melderyn’s King Chunel to mint coins.
