Drixx

"Ah, my friend! Sit, drink, listen! I have seen things in the deep that would make your bones shiver. And, if you'd be so kind as to order another round, I might even tell you about them..."

Race: Tako (Sea-Dwelling Octopusfolk)

Age: Mid-50s (Still young by Tako standards—old enough to be wise, young enough to be trouble.)

Occupation: Dockside Storyteller, Informant, and "Casual Acquirer of Drinks"

Affiliation: Neutral (Though he has "many friends" among smugglers, pirates, and merchants alike.)

Motto: "A tale is like the tide—it flows best when well-lubricated with rum."

Appearance

·       Skin: Deep cerulean, speckled with lighter blue and purple patches. His chromatophores shift subtly, adding emphasis to his expressions.

·       Eyes: Large, golden, and always glinting with mischief.

·       Tentacles: Eight, dexterous and ever-moving, casually plucking drinks, twirling knives, or rifling through unattended pouches.

·       Clothing: A fine but slightly worn navy-blue coat, adorned with buttons of coral and polished shell, a sailor's sash, and several rings looped through his tentacles.

Personality & Habits

·       "Oh, the things I have seen!" – Drixx spins the most fantastic stories, mixing half-truths and outright fabrications with just enough real danger to keep listeners enthralled.

·       "A drink? For me? You are too kind!" – While talking, his tentacles always seem to find their way to unattended mugs and bottles, making him notorious among tavern-goers.

·       "Information is like a good fish—best served fresh, but always worth something." – Drixx remembers everything—who owes who, which ships came in last, and which smugglers might be looking for "honest work."

·       "I stay out of trouble. It just keeps swimming my way." – While never directly involved in crime, he knows where to find the right people… and where to be when the City Watch arrives.

·       "You didn't hear this from me, alright?" – Has an uncanny knack for hearing whispers no one else does, making him a valuable informant… for the right price.

Where to Find Him

🍻 The Salty Barnacle (Dockside Tavern): Holding court at his favorite drinking spot, telling wild tales of the deep while quietly swiping drinks.

The Docks: Helping smugglers "unload cargo", directing questionable merchants, and keeping an ear to the latest gossip.

Underwater Coves & Hidden Smuggler Holes: Knows half the secret entrances in Lygos, but won't give them up for free.

High-Society Events (Occasionally!): Occasionally invited to noble feasts just for his legendary storytelling—though he usually leaves with a few "borrowed" trinkets.

Rumors About Drixx (Some True, Some Wild Exaggerations!)

·       "He once drank an entire keg of rum in one sitting and walked away sober." (Unlikely, but impressive if true!)

·       "He smuggled a mermaid through Lygos in a barrel of fish." (Highly debatable—though he certainly tells the tale enough.)

·       "If you pay him well, he can recall a conversation word for word—even from years ago." (True, and very dangerous knowledge.)

·       "The City Watch wants him gone, but he's got dirt on too many important people." (Likely true—his memory is a valuable weapon.)

·       "He once stole a pirate captain’s ship by convincing the crew he was their new leader." (Mostly true! It lasted about two hours before he jumped overboard laughing.)

Adventure Hooks & Storylines

"A Tale for a Price" – Drixx knows something the players need—a secret passage, a hidden treasure, a traitor in their midst—but he won’t give it up without a favor (or a lot of drinks).

"The Case of the Vanishing Smuggler" – A notorious smuggler has vanished, and the City Watch is pressing Drixx for answers. He asks the players to help him disappear for a while—but who else might be hunting him?

"The Kraken’s Bargain" – Drixx claims to have met an ancient sea creature, and it offered him a deal—but now he’s rethinking it and wants the players' help. Is he lying, or is something truly stirring in the depths?

"A Favor for a Pirate Lord" – A dangerous pirate captain has sent word—Drixx owes them a favor, and now the players are caught in the middle of something big.

Final Thoughts

Captain Drixx "Many-Arms" is a fixture of the Lygos docks, a charismatic storyteller, sly drink-thief, and dangerous informant. He is just useful enough to be tolerated, too slippery to be caught, and far more clever than he lets on. Whether he’s helping or hindering the players depends on the coin—or how much fun he thinks it will be.
