Seraphina Dawnblood

Paladin

Crusader of Lathander

Race: Aasimar (Scourge)

Class: Paladin (Oath of Devotion) / Cleric (Light Domain, 2 levels)

Alignment: Lawful Good (in her own eyes)

Location: Commonly seen in Lygos’ public plazas, temples, and the outer wards near the Plank

🌼 Appearance:

Seraphina is radiant—literally. With glowing amber eyes, golden-toned skin, and hair like sunlight catching fire, she cuts an angelic figure in the streets. She wears white and gold lamellar armor emblazoned with the rising sun symbol of Lathander, and carries a flanged morningstar inscribed with glowing celestial script.

Her posture is flawless, her voice clear and commanding, and her expression… rarely soft. She often speaks as if giving a sermon, even when making casual conversation.

🔥 Personality:

Driven, unyielding, and absolutely certain in her cause

Believes she is the Dawnlord’s chosen blade in Lygos

Cannot abide gray morality—if you're not with her, you are suspect

Dismisses criticism as ignorance or corruption

Inspires admiration or fear in equal measure

Despite this, she is not entirely cruel—just consumed by a holy mission that leaves little room for nuance or compromise.

️ Beliefs and Goals:

Lathander’s light must shine across all corners of Lygos, especially where infernal taint lingers

The Hellish Maulers gang is a festering wound and must be purged

All fiendish magic, worship, symbols, and artifacts must be destroyed

Tieflings, by virtue of their infernal blood, represent a dangerous temptation or threat, and should be banned from the city (though she does not call for their execution)

The Temple of Lathander in Lygos tolerates her but does not officially endorse her radical crusade

🌇 Public Reputation:

Group                                  Opinion

Common citizens              Mixed—some see her as a heroic protector, others as a zealot causing unrest

Religious groups                Most disapprove of her extremism, even if they share her hatred of demons

The Hellish Maulers         Despise her and have a bounty on her head (though none dare act openly)

Tieflings and allies            View her as a dangerous extremist—many fear or avoid her

City Watch                    Tolerate her, but are concerned she may spark riots or vigilante violence

🧠 Tactics and Abilities (Narrative or CR ~8–10):

Radiant Rebuke: Her smites burn brighter against fiends and undead (or anyone who looks like them…)

Aura of Conviction: Allies near her gain bonuses when fighting "evil" enemies, as she defines them

Scourge Radiance: Once per day, she can emit a radiant pulse that burns all enemies within 10 feet—including bystanders, if necessary

Unbreakable Will: Advantage on saves vs charm, fear, and any attempts to "reason with her" through magic

📢 Common Places to Find Her:

Holding a "dawnlight rally" in the main square

Arguing with local clergy outside the Temple of Lathander

Patrolling the Plank with a squad of like-minded followers

Preaching beside a destroyed infernal shrine, torch still warm in her hand

🧷 Potential Hooks for Players:

Circumstance     Interaction

PCs are fighting fiends     Seraphina might offer aid—but may question the party's morality after

A tiefling PC is in the group           Tension guaranteed—Seraphina may demand they "prove their purity"

PCs deal with the Hellish Maulers              She may offer information or backup, but expect obedience to her doctrine

PCs side with infernal or morally gray powers        She becomes a relentless antagonist, convinced they’re corrupted

Players try to reform or challenge her      Could lead to powerful roleplay—and possibly a moral reckoning

💬 Sample Dialogue:

“Light does not compromise. The sun does not debate with shadows—it burns them away.”

“You carry the stench of ash and sulfur. Explain yourself… or be judged.”

“The Maulers fester in alleys while the city sleeps. I will not rest until they are dust.”

“You speak of compassion. I speak of salvation. There is a difference.”
