Zora was born in waterdeep, and raised as a street urchin, with no strong parent figures to keep her on track. She got involved with the Xanathar's Guild at a young age, rising in the ranks as a thug, before making a name for herself as a competent hitwoman. Her skills spawned a recruiting war among the varied gangs such that the criminal underbelly of Waterdeep organized a nominally legal organization, the Hunter's Guild. Membership in the Hunter's Guild gave a sort of neutrality, where contracts and missions defined your allegiance, and while you weren't filling one, that neutrality was respected.
Zora however, had no interest in remaining the huntress of the Xanathar's Guild, and fled waterdeep, cutting ties with the Hunter's Guild and traveled south to Waterdeep to make a new living for herself.
