A few months after the renovation of Innsmouth, Reverend Vanderhoof was sent from the village of Daalbergen to tend to the souls of the coastal town. The priest took up residency in the old Unitarian Church between Main and Waite Street and personally supervised its renovations alongside his trusted sacristan, Abel Foster.
Reverend John, as everyone calls him, is a respected member of the community, a stern, but jovial and slightly intimidating man, given his large stature. The church and the cemetery behind it are usually only attended by the faithful on Sundays and holy days.
