Thanks to Reverend Vanderhoff and his loyal sacristan Abel Foster overseeing renovation work, the old Unitarian Church between Main and Waite Streets was turned from a decrepit, rundown hovel into something actually worthy of a civilized town. The surrounding area was transformed into a well manicured garden with paved paths, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.

Because of this, the old Unitarian Church has once again become a key landmark in town, now representing not only Innsmouth’s darker history, but also its capacity for renewal and rebirth.
