Opal's Notes

May 12, 2026

Since we do not have a row boat, we cross by foot through the blue dragonflight territory.

In Z28 we find evidence of werewolf-like tracks walking northeast that may have eaten something southwest of us. There are werewolves in AB29 as well. The blood seems fresh within 48 hours. Northwest, Foam senses something special and shiny. We follow the tracks to the body of a Tuskarr who was injured by arrows. They carried a note that appears to be directions to a temple. Aura detects poison by licking him D: She gets mildly poisoned as well. The body matches the description of one of the people we’re looking for. Opal finds another piece of the note nearby. It contains some brief text and a picture that indicates a possible puzzle. The note is written in Common, which Tuskarr cannot read. The arrows he was killed with were fletched with blue drake scales aka reminiscent of the blue dragonflight. He may have been traveling East.

We travel West to where the Tuskarr came from, to the burned up village. Foam finds another piece of the paper. It depicts cliffs, maybe along the sea. Dozier finds another piece. It contains clues to the rotation of the items. We find the corpses of Geoff and his wife. They appear to have been scavenged by the werewolf. They likely starved to death. He’s been dead for 8 days :( They had food poisoning. We are unsure why they did not turn into Scourge. We theorize that it could be because sentient creatures or stronger/healthier creatures are less susceptible, or because of the food poisoning, or because of the werewolf, or maybe even the temple.

We take their bodies back to their village nearby, Moa’ki. The village is throwing a summer harvest festival. Skyhaven tells us that these two were exiled because they were selling village secrets to the dragonflight. She shares that natives to Northrend are more resistant to the Scourge. Nerubians come from an underground realm and are prone to the scourge infestation.

The village has found two turtle eggs and a truce with the dragonflight, and they have begun trade with the gnomes. The dragonflight were eating them.

They tell us that the crystal turtles are quite rare. Galaciopase (?) Turtles. They hail from Actogorgon, the god of the turtles. They are worshiped at this village. The eggs must be kept cold while remaining in contact with a warm blooded creature. This must be done for 6-8 months until they hatch. The eggs won’t expire unless exposed to high heat. The village would be glad to raise them. Once we clear out the area and confirm that the eggs are there, they are willing to dive in the cold water and procure them for us. The Chief recognizes the temple from a long time ago as possible from the cliffs to the northwest following the road. It’s an old abandoned village “from before the snow”. Y25-AA26 ish area. The blue dragonblight’s territory is mostly east of there. He shares that the ice stopped melting a few decades ago. Perhaps it is magic, or perhaps it has something to do with the dragonflight

We leave in pursuit of the temple. We have a rough idea of its location. AA26: There are thick woods, and a path that leads to AB26 that is deep in the cliffs. There is smoke from buildings to our west. We leave the next day to find the buildings, there’s about 4 of them, and embedded into the cliff is a zeppelin. It appears to be a goblin zeppelin. There is a troll with 2 spears guarding the area. He wishes to kill the Alliance members. He gives Dozier a sealed message for the Horde.

Back in AA26, we see dragons taking flight to our East . We see 5-6. They come and go. There’s actually two different kinds: one is possibly a red dragonflight, and one is lava/skeletal. There are multiple skeletal dragons.

While we are sleeping, Gwyn spies Horde members tracking us. Dozier goes out first, and an orc approaches him. He demands the letter back. They leave from there.

We go towards the crevice. We encounter an elk on fire, and we put it out and heal it. As we go further, we find a dead red dragonflight on the cliff side. Past the cliff, we see a bright orange tree. It is enormous. Almost everything in this valley is on fire. There are red dragons and skeletal dragons fighting. The red dragons are fighting to put out the fire. This seems to be a battle between the ruby dragonflight and the Scourge. This fight seems to be going on for a long time. The Scourge seems to be aiming to kill the dragons to turn them undead.

AB27 there is an Alliance outpost helping the ruby dragonflight. In AB26 there is a Horde outpost helping the ruby dragonflight. Shawn says we might have to choose one side to help more.

We suspect that the other dragonflights have shrines experiencing similar Scourge issues. There;s a giant tower in AC27 or AD28. We were able to see it previously.

We explore 2 more hexes on our way back. We find a crossroads with a signpost written in Horde. Directions to Magmar;s Hammer, Borean Tundra, and Wrymcrest temple. There’s grizzlies nearby. WE COULD TAME ONE. There’s also elk. And wulvars, wolverine peoples. There is also forest here.

Y27 is next. We know this to be Nerubia territory. There is another crossroads with another sign. One points to Star;s Rest, one to Borean Tundra, one to Ice Mist Village. This is half forest. There are some grizzlies. There is a frozen waterfall with the camp of a Tuskarr. He is about three times larger than a normal Tuskarr. He is a Crazed Tuskarr and he seems to eat other people. Star’s Rest has some elven temple designs, and ghostly spirits, and a bubbling hot springs. The wisps are hostile. It was an old elvish settlement that was killed by something maybe 1000 years ago. There are also rabid grizzlies that were injured by the Nerubians, and diseased elk by the Nerubians.
