Anacardo

Definitely Not the Witch

Anacardo

Anacardo is "Que" Quercus Hojaoscura ’s right hand—and in some situations, the left one as well, or both at once. She has accompanied him for so long that she stopped counting years, seasons, and crises, and honestly never found it particularly important. Que is simply Que. And someone has to be there with him.

Her pet, Piškot, is a constant part of her presence. While Que reflects, speaks of forest cycles, or considers three possible meanings of a single leaf, Anacardo feeds Piškot from a short distance and keeps an eye on things to make sure they do not fall apart entirely. Piškot is accustomed to long pauses, unexpected silence, and sudden departures—and much like his owner, he remains calm even when others would lose their patience.

Anacardo has come to the conclusion that the best strategy is to let Que do what he does best: think, speak, and search for meaning. She takes care of the rest. Timing. Small interventions. Magic applied at the right moment and in reasonable amounts.

A little magic has never killed anyone.
And if it has, Anacardo certainly never talked about it.
