Lore

We are the legion that is bringing laughter and gifts of abundance for the land. 

We embark on a journey of spreading our ritual of laughter and sacrifice everywhere we go so that the earth can flourish again.

We sacrifice what we can our enemies, us and anything that comes in stopping our ritual so we can bless the land so it blesses us back.

Before we became this we were just villagers from small village.



Life in our village was like in any other village (not that i was in any other village). Our village was special in only one region and that was our vineyards and vine that was created it was the best in the province and very sought after by anyone who tried it. LIfe in village was simple people woke up and went to do their job most went to tend to the vineyards some went to vinery others went to do other things that needed to be done. Life was very stagnant cyclic the only thing that disturbed this cycle was once a year a ritual of laughter and abundance where everyone drank our vine ate what we grew and sacrificed these things to the land so we could be blesed next year with great harvest again.

Our life would have cycled like this forever if not for an incident that occured. One year few days before our ritual noble with his knights came to our village. He came here to demand our vine and harvest we refused because we had none to spare for him he didnt like that answer. He ordered his man to look for things he wanted the knight quickly found our offerings for great ritual and took them without mercy even tho we told them why we cant give it to them. They didnt care and took everything. Before the noble left he said he would be back next year again. We still tried to perform the great ritual but without the offerings and our laughter it was nothing more than just play pretend.

The next year our village couldnt grew anything it was as if our land of abundace became barren land, our animals and some people became sick. It was our punishment from the land for not holding the ritual. The more time went on in the year the more people became sick. The only thing that made us go on throught our sickness was we managed to make one barrel of vine for our ritual but that didnt stop resentment that grew more and more against the noble who caused all this suffering. 

THe ritual was in few days again and once again the noble came with his knights. This time he didnt even ask imidiatly ordered his knights to search for what he came. This time we were not letting him interupt our ritual we took our sickly bodies and fought back against the knights. The moment we started to fight against the knights our sick bodies got stronger. The more we fought the more it was feeling like our ritual of laughter so slowly everyone started laughing and enjoying the fight like the ritual. In the fight i opened the barrel of vine and started to hand out vine to everyone from village who drank it got stronger and bigger and when some knight got sprayed by it by accident they started streaming in agony and laughing uncontrollably till they died. We won the battle the noble and his knights were dead at our feet. After that we looked around and our vineyards were back to life again full of grapes ready to be picked again this massacre warked more than our normal ritual. After some deciding half of the village decided that that they gonna go on a quest to spread ritual of laughter and sacrifice and that that we become Laughing ones becouse whereever we go we gonna laught and spread our gifts. 

So we became The laughing ones and went on our quest.
