Twinbriar Monastery

Destroyed
House of Alarielle and Sigmar

In the northern reaches, surrounded by the Stalkvine Ridges, lie the ruins of a monastery. Once, it was known as Twinbriar Monastery, where the disciples of both Sigmar and Alarielle could practice their rites in peace and harmony. But Sigmar had his own designs for these remote hallowed grounds, and in secret, he ordered his faithful to build a Stormvault. In it, one of the great scourges of Ghyran would be sealed, kept safe by faith and the natural defences of Sigmar´s unknowing ally. Not all secrets needed to be shared, especially ones that need to be buried deeply such as this abhorrent relic.

It has been a long time since anyone called Twinbriar their home, with vines and plants having claimed this lost refuge. Yet even now, the powers of both Sigmar and Alarielle radiate in this place, searing the flesh of Daemons and protecting the grounds from malicious hands. But the magical barriers are old and worn. A joined attack from the forces of ruin will be enough to break the lingering invocations and take what is hidden underneath the ruined monastery. Woe to all if this calamity would occur.

For sealed within this Stormvault lies the Horn of Famine. A most dreaded instrument, once thought to have been created by Nagash, but even He would not make such an insidious object. Once sounded, the land will become blighted for many miles as if it has only known the bleak caress of Ulgu. Crops wither upon its call. Livestock is driven mad, their flesh warped and only able to cause the mind of the eater to falter and cease altogether, leaving the victim a mere husk. It is even whispered that it was this horn that heralded Nurgle into Ghyran during the Age of Chaos, resulting in centuries of decay.
