Lorelei's Diary - 31st of First Growth of the year 747 AK

Started off my day with yelling at Modu. I know they don’t understand, that’s just what they are, but how could they just do that? They do as they are commanded. So if they were told to kill me, would they do it? When I asked them this, they got confused, didn’t know what to say. Serves you right I guess.. Killing people who decided to not harm us.. Striking them as they walk away from us.. Just because you were commanded to do so!? After yelling at Modu, I also yelled at Elior… But they seemed indifferent. Apparently they can predict the future, but how can I trust that what he says is true? For all I know he’s just telling me the truth now, to gain my trust, but then he could lie all he wanted. That Dark knight (Sir Spike) told me not to trust anyone, now I know why. 

Okay, weird thing just happened. Thought about the knight, yelled at Elior and he just appeared in the corner of my eye? But as I went to approach him, he was gone.. There were footprints in the mud where he stood, but other than that they don’t lead away.? Confusing.

Anyways. I also yelled at Cloaky. So I yelled at everyone basically. Except Jonáš and Oni I guess. And the other guys with Elior… whatever (I keep forgetting their names?? Was it Coli and.. 

We did meet someone on our travels that day though, a woman named Leaf. She says she’s been lost in the swamp for a long time.. But apparently she’s been lost for months in the swamp, that’s so strange though. According to her story she was just ‘walking’ and got lost in thought and ended up in the swamp… That’s just weird. I have to be more cautious and so I am paying attention to things like that, but god that is weird. Even I don’t get THAT lost.. Right? Right. 

We eventually decide to let her tag along with us, but we have to do our mission first, and then we will take her back to civilization (hehe). She agrees to that (but to be honest, she doesn’t have another choice in the matter, it’s join us or go at it alone O.o). That evening I had a strange dream though.. 

Apparently everyone has had a dream that night, both Modu and Cloaky asked me if I dreamt something. I did tell them, though I am still not happy with them! Cloaky did ask about the egg too, but it did something strange.. Or smart I guess..

Lorelei's Diary - 32nd of First Growth of the year 747 AK

Today ELIOR BETRAY US. YES. How DARE HE? So what happened was, there were human-like figures in the distance, as they grew closer, it appeared to be a HORDE OF ZOMBIES. Yes. Many many zombies. But they don’t attack us though. Very odd. It was quite fun cuz when I moved, they moved the same way, and when I spoke, they replied with a groan. I was having fun, but then apparently Leaf got into an argument with Elior and BAM. Elior and his friends start attacking us. Out of NOWHERE. Modu tried to keep the peace but it soon became clear what Elior’s intentions were. He commanded Modu to kill me. Scary moment though O.o but Modu didn’t (otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this, of course) (But maybe Cloaky would’ve brought me back again?) and uh.. The Dark knight (Sir Spike) appeared, helped us fight Elior and his friends. So yeah Elior died, one of his friends died and the other one killed himself. It was really weird. Don’t remember much of the rest of that day, other than me having a HUGE headache. Oh wait, no that’s not true. The zombies turned out to be people that Elior put an illusion spell on. They were travelling through the swamp to get somewhere. Good people! And that’s all I remember.

Lorelei's Diary - 33rd of First Growth of the year 747 AK

We finally made it to the caves, but it was already getting late so we made camp close to it. I asked Oni which kind of monsters we could be facing, but I kind of already forgot what they said... But I had a talk with Leaf too. I think I'm starting to trust her a little bit, but I don't know if I should, with everything that has happened since I left home.. But I did explain to her that I might possibly have a bounty on my head, which might be why Elior turned on us and why people might come looking for us. I feel like I couldn't keep that to myself anymore as her being around me also puts her in danger.

I also spoke with Modu. I wanted to apologize about Elior. He wanted to kill me and that was quite scary, but I still felt like I needed to say something. I told them that they have to make their own choices now, and that it could actually be exciting to finally get to choose things for themselves. Although they still seem to be having a lot of trouble figuring all of that out. I don't blame them. I imagine it's probably quite difficult when you've spent your entire existence being told what to do and suddenly you're expected to decide things yourself. They did give me a tarp to sleep under for the night, which was SO nice. I miss my cozy bed and my soft blankets. Yeah my blankets..

In the middle of that night Modu woke me up because there were intruders approaching from the east. So naturally I woke everyone else up too. We were all a bit careful but it appears that the intruders were just a family of four. They looked awful, as if they've been through a lot. Their clothes were all ragged and they looked like they hadn't eaten properly in ages. We gave them some rations and they practically inhaled them. I felt bad for them, they had no one to protect them from all the dangers in the swamp, I'm lucky to have my friends around me.. Don't think I would survive out here. Maybe Bob would eat me in my sleep?!

They told us they were trying to get to Westreach. There were apparently more of them, but the swamp ATE them. After that we had kind of a discussion cuz Modu and I wanted to take them back to Westreach and then come back, but Leaf and Cloaky didn't agree. I feel like we should've put their safety first, but they thought taking care of the orcs first was best. So that's what we decided to do. I still think we should've gone back and get them to safety before continuing down to the caves. Anyways, we spent FOREVER having an argument about what we should do now, since we were going to do the orc thing first and what the plan would be inside the caves, but decided to get some sleep before actually doing the plan. Oh and we didn't follow the plan. Not at ALL.

Lorelei's Diary - 34th of First Growth of the year 747 AK

So when we went into the caves, we saw Bob arguing with an orc about something. Apparently he wanted meat? I'm not entirely sure. We all know Bob is a cannibal, so I guess the orcs trade in human meat? I couldn't hear the whole conversation though, but Leaf said they were arguing about the price of some meat and that Bob had brought amor to trade but wasn't happy with the price they were offering.

But anyways, we went to talk to Bob and he told us to go talk to Bobd, a goblin who apparently could trade with me for my bow. So we went looking for him. At first they thought we were intruders but Modu remembered some special phrase that apparently let them know we weren't enemies. I traded my longbow for a shortbow and 35 rations. Could've gotten more but I'm really not good at this haggling stuff.. Then we also traded the longswords we got, but this time my haggling WORKED! We got 120g instead of 100g. And during this peaceful trading apparently Cloaky was RANDOMLY SETTING THINGS ON FIRE?!

I don't even know how, but he managed to escape without getting caught. So then we continued looking for the merchant, his wife and the guards. According to Modu the only other place they would keep people would be where we met with Bob. So that's where we went. And Cloaky told me to distract the group of orcs tat was there but forgot he TOOK my FLUTE. I got it back though. Finally! And so, I started playing and OH MY GOD what a performance, everyone was so exited about singing along and just dancing. I don't mean to brag, but orcs have excellent taste in music. It was so so nice. I have absolutely no clue what the others were doing though, but at some point they came to get me. to be honest I didn't want to leave, but apparently they found the people we were looking for and well, we had others to protect too.

And then we left, started running as fast as we could to get out of there and eventually set up camp when we thought we were far enough.

35th - nothing happened, no diary entry from Lorelei

Lorelei’s Diary - 36th of First Growth of the Year 747 AK

I saw Dodo. I swear it was him. He was flying over us when we were on the road. I kept yelling but he couldn’t hear me. We were SO CLOSE to reuniting and he couldn’t hear me and there was nothing I could do to reach him. I swear I will find you and tell you what happened Dodo, I promise.. 

I wanted to go after him then and there, but Modu, Leaf and Cloaky convinced me to go to the keep first and bring everyone to safety. They promised me they would come with me to find him. That was so kind of them. It’s really nice to have people you can count on.. I just really hope we find him soon..

Lorelei’s Diary - 1st of High Sun of the year 747 AK

Nothing really happened today, but we did see two armies fighting! When we got a closer look they were all skeletons! We decided not to get involved cuz.. Well who in their right mind would do that..? The rest of the day the swamp was eerily quiet, as if all life had left. It was already scary before, but this made it super creepy..

Lorelei’s Diary - 2nd of High Sun of the year 747 AK

Nothing happened during the day but at night?! Some random person walked into our camp muttering to themselves, not paying mind to any of us, as if we weren’t there. And the Leaf poked them and they started yelling ‘BODY SNATCHER’ at her in this horrible, demonic voice. Which is, you know, a bit concerning, what on earth could have happened to this person. We tried figuring it out, but I’m still confused to be honest. Somehow the person we saw had agreed to being possessed and the body belongs to the person, who controls it but the mind and voice and such belonged to the demon thing we were talking to. It was such a confusing encounter. Anyways, eventually they left and I saw Leaf sneaking out of camp soon after. I tried to follow her but couldn’t, she disappeared somehow?! I’m way too clumsy for that stuff anyways.. But she shouldn’t be out there alone!

Lorelei’s Diary - 3rd of High Sun of the year 747 AK

Nothing really happened, but these beautiful ethereal beings floated into our camp. They didn’t seem threatening and Modu said they were ex-soldiers and that they are looking for enemies. So we decided not to bother them. They eventually left. Very strange. This swamp is such a weird place..

Lorelei’s Diary - 4th or High Sun of the year 747 AK

We finally arrived at the keep, thank god I really was getting tired of this swamp. The Merchant and his wife went to their house and we agreed to meet them for lunch, giving them a bit of time now to get cleaned up and settle in again. We went to talk to.. Uh.. I forgot his name.. The person who was going to pay us for getting the guards back safe. But we got paid! 2000g pieces which we divided between Jonáš, Oni, Cloaky and me (because Leaf and Modu didn’t feel the need to get paid for this job). They also asked about Elior but we explained that they died. They said he apparently had a residence here and apparently Modu is now the owner of that residence! After that I just went to the tavern to wait for lunch. I don’t want to be greedy, but they said the Merchant might reward us for saving them, I really need the money to find Dodo. 

When it was time, I met up with everyone again and we went to the Merchant’s house for lunch. The door was open and they both looked completely different! All cleaned up and everything. Lunch looked so good, oh my GOD I was so happy to get a good meal. It’s been so long! 

Modu seemed unusually quiet though, and Leaf was going through the wine like crazy.. Cloaky was.. Cloaky. So I eventually HAD to ask if they would reward us. Again I am usually not greedy but I HAVE to find Dodo. They gave us some options: either names, gold or enchanted items. No one was really replying so I decided that we were going to go for the gold, but they also gave me a name! And 600 platinum, which will be very useful! Of course we divided that between the four of us, that would only be fair. Oh and their names were Lilliana and Carl. I almost forgot to ask them.. 

After that we went to the store and I bought a few things: a tent, some potions (3 greater healing potions) and a sack to put everything in. So now I have money, supplies and a name of someone who could help us find Dodo. Now I just need to find him. I will find you Dodo, I promise.
