There is a lot of iron in the stones on Liath. This iron has started to rust. Rusted iron is reddish brown,
that's why Liath is also called the 'red planet'.
Before the Mish invasion, liquid water could be found on Liath. Now there is only ice. There was once much life, but the Mysserian Empire has drained the planet of its resources and left Liath destroyed. Because Liath is further from the sun, it is a lot
colder than on Rilia. On the coldest days it is about 140 degrees Celsius below zero.
But on the hottest days it is sometimes 20 degrees above zero.
The fact that the temperature on Liath varies so much is because there is no longer an atmosphere.
