Bran is the eldest son of Westra (née Rommel) Blackwood. It was revealed that his father is actually Mirt. Bran, as the eldest, grew up in a position of authority, not knowing he was not the biological son of Lord Blackwood until his early teens. When he found out that he would not be in line to inherit the Blackwood estate and titles, he turned from a spoiled child to an almost evil one. He constantly bullied his younger brother Maran Blackwood and wasn't much nicer to his youngest, Ander Blackwood.
In an attempt to gain power and esteem, he tried to sell his brother, Maran Blackwood, to the Mindflayer, Nihiloor. Bran died as a result of using a terrible item, a Cursed Pendant of Shadows, in an attempt to protect himself from what he thought was an attack on his life by the Trollmates.
