Dhann

Life Cleric, Lord

Dhann is a Life Cleric from Waterdeep, having lived at and received clerical training from Helm's Hall under the tutelage of the clergy there. He is a stoic, reflective person, preferring to remain quiet and observe from the background, but will speak up or interject if he feels he must, or there is a wrong that, if possible, can be righted. As his story progresses with his companions, Dhann is slowly coming out of his shell and becoming more talkative, at least with those he considers friends. Fiercely protective of those around him, Dhann takes his duties as a Life Cleric, and the tenets of being a Cleric of Helm, extremely seriously; holding both of these positions over himself with acute austerity. His zealous dedication to both his deity and his duty is reflected in his everyday choices and behaviors, such as strict devotion to regular prayer, committed research into medicinal and magical treatments, keeping his Clerical gear in pristine condition, and aiding those who are in need of help. He is especially protective of children, and folk who are unable to protect or help themselves. Dhann has been named to succeed Father Evencrest as head of the Hall in the future. Highly unusual for a Cleric, Dhann has a familiar and is bonded to the snowy owl, Stout. They are slowly learning to get along.

Dhann walks the straight and narrow path, abstaining from idleness, intoxicants, and - to the casual observer - most realms of fun or relaxation, preferring books and studying to other forms of rest or entertainment; prayer often proceeds even these pursuits. Dhann doesn't like to talk about himself and one doesn't need to spend much time with the Cleric to find him an incredibly private person. Self-reflection is routine. Smiles are rare. What he has in abundance, however, is care and concern for others - perhaps, at times, bordering on detrimental to his own state. Dhann will do his utmost to avoid violence towards humanoids and animals, and will use nonlethal blows if talking fails and a fight breaks out - but if the creatures are monsters, unable to be reasoned with, that might be a different story.
