"Oh Mother and Father, bring us your life. Send your sons to bring the rains upon the fields and to bring the harvest to our tables! It is your providence to hold us in the palm of your hands, and while we trust you to be kind - we know you to be just."

High Priest of the Great Temple in Eldios, Proclus Plotius Camerius

Temple Positions

The gods desire adoration, or perhaps in some cases, require proselytizing to spread their message across the material plane, a constant spiritual battle ground for the beings of the outer planes. Folks in Adra themselves often feel a need for spiritual catharsis, and the servants of the gods find no trouble in collecting followings in settlements, particularly if their god promises life, prosperity, and happiness to their adherents. While those who serve in temple positions often seem to exist in a parallel world to the secular one, in reality they often gather prestige, influence, power, and wealth in their temples. To the political centers of most nations, these temples are often, while necessary to administer to the spiritual needs of the people, can often be seen as a serious political threat when left to their own devices.
