Bull-ies aka The Braz After School Special - 27th April 2021
The party seemed to be welcomed into the town along with other humans and a few other races, who had arrived from Estoria and the surrounding towns. The party has been provided with a barn in the town to lay their heads. The town itself seems to be a gentle farming town, with small business-like places dotted around. The town has a spring and a waterfall at the edge of the mountain, which 150 foot down reaches a large river and a mountain lake. It eventually reaches the sea. The party arrived at sunset, and joined an excited buzz from a nearby building, and the residents of the village seemed in joyful spirits.
Xan throws a game of coins with some of the rowdy youths.
Braz tells Xan about how his people were in slavery, and the run is a tradition from when they were freed. The race is now run with youths as a celebration of freedom every year.
They head over to a temple to Mytros. A large minotaur appears with a scar across his eye, and Braz seems unnerved by his presence. He is greeted as Braz’s uncle. He asks them to ensure three patrons are drunk: Adrianos, Pavlos and Zoe, and that they herd them into the pens for the night.
Braz goes into the shrine alone. When he leaves he is joined by another minotaur. They are greeted as The Chosen.
They discuss the gods and the impending threat of the Titons.
As their hosts leave, the party discuss the task put before them. Xan was keen to take part in some fun drinking games, and to find the young people but the rest of the party, including Braz, Calliope and Alke do not agree with the task.
The party begins to be wilder. Pythor enters the room, and gets the crowd yelling, he encourages the crowd - WORK MOTIVATION and IMPROVEMENT! He encourages his audience, saying he believes in them. Pythor is going to guard the pens overnight.
The room is crowded.
One group seem to have a ringleader - a mini pythor type. He is wearing a vest tank top and a seashell necklace hanging around his neck. Adrianos.
Another group of young women/girls are sat together, and are mainly making snarky comments to others in the crowd. Zoe is within them.
Pavlos is sat alone judging everyone. He seems to think like he is better than all the others.
Xan seems to have built up a rapport with Adrianos and his team. She pretends to be bad at the game of coins, a quick assessment that the group is proud of their masculinity when faced with a small blond pretty woman. She allows Adrianos to feel like he is winning in the game and winning her over too. His group drinks more than they planned with encouragement from Xan, and end up passing out and falling in the bar. She kicks a bench from under Adrianos, releasing ehrself from his grip, and slips into the crowd hiding herself with her cape.
They return to the town square to report on their progress. He says ‘you gotta have a code’ - Xan suspects her code is not the same as the others.
Braz’s uncle tells Braz their bloodline is cursed. Xan is saddened - she likes her new friends and wishes she could help. Braz must meet with the fates, who are overseas. Xan knows why she is with them now - she must help Braz get overseas to cure his curse.
Braz tells Xan he has wanted to go to the seas but is scared of the vastness and the claustrophobia on the ships.
“Within the vastness you find room to breathe, and with the tight spaces on board you form fast friendships, I think I can get you to where you need to be, and with our ‘captain’ Theo we have double the expertise.”
The leaders in the town herd the youths into the pens at the top of the hills, moving all the drunken and tired youths into each of the enclosures. Pythor addresses them, telling them to keep quiet or he will reign hell upon them.
Pythor partakes in some god nonsense, jumping on roofs while looking for wine. Xan looks up and down the streets, looking for a way to find the way through.
Xan decides to join the race, and Hippofilius joins Corinna in the crowd. As she greets Corinna, they are both blessed and have a swift spell cast on them.
