Xanthia - Session 66 - My Lady of Coins

Account

21st September 2021 - My Lady of Coins

Xan snuck off after the race to meet with the Lady of Coins. She talked her way past the doorman, one of the shady characters she had met in the Satyr’s Tail during her first few nights in the city.

She boldly asked if she could join the agreement that the party, stating her alliance with them and requesting that the Lady of Coins also be indebted to her.

The Lady of Coins seemed to be mildly amused by Xan’s bravado, and asked that she do a favour for her. A package was to be delivered to the warehouse from across town, and Xan was to be the courier.

Xan politely agreed - surely it would not be anything too dangerous compared to her previous adventures.

She travelled across to the citadel via the Siren’s Roost, grabbing Helikaon on route. She asked him to accompany her, as he was one who could also handle his own.

As they found the package she discovered it was a man, unwell from poisoning. As she and Helikaon moved him through the city they passed a curing hand over him, discovering he was a friend of the Lady of Coins, and had poisoned himself in an unfortunate accident.

Xan was not familiar with this world, and decided not to enquire further for fear of being killed for her inquisition. After a swift walk through the city, they jumped in a boat and rowed across to deliver the man to his destination.

The Lady of Cins promised this man that he would be helped, which Xan discovered was a horrible method where he would be turned to stone, instead of dying of this poison. The Lady of coins agreed to speak to the party through Xan, perhaps seeing something in her that she respected.

As she had completed this task, Xan travelled back with Helikaon to their party. Before they left, a message about the missing children was given to Xan, which she didn’t understand but was willing to pass on.

The children who were missing, perhaps their parents are not too sad about them going, perhaps they were the ones who arranged it.

As they returned to the party, Xan revealed her knowledge, and some enquiry came to her back from Alke - she was suspicious about how she gained this information.

Xan quickly directed the conversation to the Ultros, asking the party if she was able to join their quest, and claim it as her own. They seemed to be hesitant - as Alke always was - of her intentions. She waffled around the subject of her parantage, not telling them the truth, that she was indeed an Arkelander and descendent of the Dragonlord Estor. They would surely refuse if they were to discover her destiny as the daughter of one they seem to hate.

Alke and Calliope seemed to agree that the Oracle would be the best to advise on this decision, and agreed to visit her after the next game.

Xan, exhausted, recalled that the following day was the sailing event. What a night to choose to stay awake...
