The First War

War

The First War was a long-lasting altercation between the Titans and the Dragonlords over the rights and liberties of the Settler races.

This timeline looks at the known events of the War, as well as the events that led up to it.

Before the War > -10

It was roughly 10 years between the Dragonlords appearing in Thylea and the First War starting in earnest.

The Dragonlords were originally led by Xander Huorath: but his death is thought to have sparked the fracture of the group, and ultimately the war.

  • The Dragonlords Arrive

    10 Years Before the War

    The Dragonlords arrive on Thylea’s shores to help a beleaguered population of Settler races.

  • The Death of Xander Huorath

    1 Year Before the War

    Xander Huorath, the first leader of the Dragonlords, dies. Cosmo Phobas takes over as leader, though in practice is just a figurehead with Telemok Arkelander making the decisions behind the scenes.

  • Yonder is Destroyed

    The Year the War Begins

    Estor Arkelander leads an attack on Yonder. The assault is successful and no mercy is shown to the losing side with the Dragonlord armies massacring the Gygan population.

    Horrified at the slaughter, Estor’s dragon Arkyrania leaves him.

  • The Titans Take Notice

    The Year the War Begins

    Until this point, the Titans were reluctant to get involved in the war. The effective genocide of the Gygans spurred the Twins into action and the period of fighting that had come before escalated to become the First War.

The First War > 1

The First War lasted around 12 years. It started when Estor Arkelander’s massacre of the Gygan’s spurred the Sydon and Lutheria into action; and it ended when both sides, weakened by years of fighting, agreed to an Oath of Peace. 

  • Estor Finishes the Ultros

    The First Year

    Not long after the attack on Yonder, Estor Arkelander completes building the legendary ship the Ultros and recruits 200 men and women to its crew.

    He uses this ship and army to ransack Native encampments and settlements on the mainland and islands.

  • Sydon Kills the Dragons

    The Second Year

    Not long into the war, Sydon has killed all of the Dragonlords Dragons.

  • Estor ‘Dissapears’

    The Second Year

    Estor Arkelander, having taken Lutheria's cursed deal, estranges himself from the other Dragonlords completely.

  • Telamok, and Other Kingdoms, Fall

    The Second Year

    Without the protection of Dragons, or Estor Arkelander's support, the city of Telemok, and several other Dragonlord Kingdoms, quickly fall.

  • The Five Gods Arrive

    The Third Year

    The tide of the war is halted a little with the arrival of the Five Gods walking the land, preventing the complete annihilation of the Dragonlords resistance.

  • The Tide Turns

    The Eighth Year

    After five years of fighting, the Dragonlords finally begin to turn the tide against the Titans with the help of the Five. The fight continues - until it reaches a standstill.

  • The Titans Retreat

    As they grow weaker, the Titans retreat to the Underworld and Praxys to strengthen their defences.

  • Attack on Praxys

    The Twelfth Year

    The Dragonlords, without Estor Arkelander, build a fleet and attack Praxys. Adonis Neurdagon, Telemok Arkelander and Cosmo Phobas die here, alongside the majority of their forces. Isadore Huorath becomes the new leader of the Dragonlords.

  • The Oath of Peace

    The Twelfth Year

    The Oath of Peace is agreed between Sydon, Lutheria, and the Five.

    Proof of this is brought back to Mytros by Damon.

After the War > 12

With the Oath of Peace, a shaky peace is established that is set to last 500 years.

The remaining Dragonlords and their descendants go their separate ways. Rizon Phobas retires to a quiet life; Damon founds the Academy and then eventually takes up residence at the Necropolis at Telemok; Estor Arkelander is no where to be found.
