7th December 2021 - Pirates Know Pirates
A clang of swords and the clanking of armour brings an exciting battle. The ghost rises from the floor while Xan and Helikaon attack. A few misses but one smart move from Helikaon leaves the sword dropping to the ground.
Xan grabs it and with one heavy swipe, swings it at the armour. Not great - it’s heavy. But she wants it all the same. She grumbles as the rest of the Chosen make their moves.
The armor attacks Xan but she is smart and moves out of the way, with it only clipping her.
They make short work of the ghostly figure, and Xan hits in a flurry to take the armor out of the mortal… immortality… ethereal plane.
They race to the top deck and meet with Estor, who claps slowly at them. He offers them a chance to be his successor, to which Xan thinks - 'I don’t need you to name me… I already am your descendent.'
The horrific ghost evolves, growing in size until he is a towering giant, holding a black starlit blade. He throws out a barrage of spells, hurting the party, dragging them across the deck like rag dolls.
Xan leaps over to protect Alke, shouting up to the ghostly Estor “YOU OFFER US THIS SHIP AS YOUR SUCCESSOR, BUT I AM ALREADY THE DESCENDENT OF AN ARKELANDER. I AM XANTHIA ARKELANDER, AND I AM OWED THIS SHIP!”
Estor laughs and says “Well it’s only you I need then…”
He drags Xanthia into some dark magic and she disappears. There is no record of what happened but there are rumours she saw a side of death no Nereid should have to see.
As Estor flickers back into existence, Theo shoots a lightning bolt directly through him. Xan attacks but with little effect, and is hit a few times, bringing her confidence (and health) down.
They fight and exchange words, each time Estor welcoming Xan to join him and save her friends. She senses a trick. Pirates know pirates, after all.
One last blow from the ghost captain and she sees black. Only her friends can save them now.
