Failed trading

Theo exhausted himself by casting gust of wind and spent most of the day sleeping.

Xan made an attempt to trade weapons with Braz, putting on her best Captain Gold impression, but was thrown by a few sailors hanging out in Braz’s room. Braz seemed hesitant, glancing at the spear leaning up against his wall. A few back and forths later, Xan retreats from the room awkwardly, scurries past Moxena’s room hurriedly, and throws herself back into her quarters. She clambers up into her roost and sits, defeated.

She hears a noise from Estor’s room. The door creaks open and shut. A pause, then “well well well, look who it is, it’s been a while Kiki…”

Xan struggles to write the conversation down.

“See u brought some pups with u …is this ur new troup … tell them u were bring to the deaths? What… nothing to say after all these years?

A pause. Then a quiet voice… “we migt find a way to help you rest andbreak the curse. Coperate and help us control the ship, we can give it to the new dragunlawds?”

“NEW DRAGUNLAWDSis that what they think they are? Listen u corward this is my ship! I earned my way And id take your divvin spark (?) and fuel it with it”

“Estor… is it enough now? Yu won't insult a goddess, there are not the same dragonlords anymore  the world is done wit ou. Yu are beyond redemption”

Estor laughs

“Funny coming from you. It is all your falt. If you hadnt left, Lutheria would not have tricked me, the curse is all your fault!! If i had my time again id break your heart ugain”

“No Estor, i’m done with you. Yu claimed to have nuthing to do with dragunlawds and tiytons. Youre not effected by the oath of peace... I will get rid of you. You’re forgotten. People don’t write stories about you. Not true ones anyway. Even if it takes every ounce of my divvinity. I’ll end you here.”

The footsteps moved away and out of the room. Xan listened to see if Estor had anything else to say, before clambering down to the desk and ripping a page out of one of Theo’s borrowed books, and scribbling what she remembered onto the page to show Theo in the morning.

Intervention

Next day Theo brings good winds again. Xan takes the helm. As she sails a crowd gathers around the Backer of the ship. She tries not to take her eyes off of the seas but can’t help but overhear the conversation.

Calliope is leading some sort of intervention on the god Pythor to curb his drinking. They challenge his consumption of the ship's reserve, but Calliope is focused on his wellbeing.

Pythor speaks about his lost loves, many of whom he lost violently. Braz suggests he tries to fight it sober, at his full strength and clarity. In 59 short days he says he will be free of the oath and battle will be at hand again. He longs for the fight.

Calliope speaks of her pain, and says it is better to live with it and use it to strengthen you. Xan, overhearing it, realises that she also ran from her troubles, the same as Xan did. Maybe they do have some things in common.

Calliope mentioned they will be visiting the island of statues. Where Moxena was sending the frozen people and where Pythor’s wife Hexia is meant to be. Pythor says “she is the cause of all my ailments” She has left him powerless. Xan changes her focus to the seas and Theo’s spells.

The following day they are slowly approaching the first island. A monster flies from the skies. The sailors jump into battle positions manning the ballisters. Xan and the crew shoot off some ballister shots into the monster but they are not quick enough, and Lorius is grabbed and taken off into the distance.
