1st February 2022 - Loot!
Sailing on the boat to reach the island they come across a rough and ragged bay. There is a barrier of shipwrecks surrounding the bay. Xan rows the boat, steering them between the dangerous shards, and with the help of the party and one large god in the guide of a dolphin they reach the bay.
Xan helps the party to climb up some of the rock, using her experience on the slippery rocks of the Isle of Exiles, to make sure she is placing her feet securely. She pulls the rest of the team up the hill. Theo levitates the rest of the way up, dragging the rest of the party with him, and as they get near the top they falter.
After a struggle, they reach the top and search for the direction of the monster. There are wrecks and smashed rocks, this is clearly its home. Hipofilius put his nose closer to the ground, sniffing around and seeing poppies, bludwart and plants that grow under hot and iron rich circumstances. The team rush forward to where their companion was taken, and with Alke casting Haste they speed up.
Xan suddenly spots what was a tree, grown twisted and rocks collapsed into what looks like a large arched cave. From inside she hears a small song of panpipe music.
Inside the cave their crew member is still, surprisingly, alive. He is calming the baby monsters with a soothing song from his panpipes.
They jump into action, throwing fire and arrows at the monster and its babies. Hipofilius dashes by Xan, grasping onto her quiver for a second and casting them aflame. Xan can feel the power shooting out from them as she goes to grab the next one.
Before she can react the monster blasts out a fiery breath, surrounding the party with lames. Xan ducks to avoid the flames, not realising Calliope was behind her and takes most of the brunt of the attack. As the flames clear, Xan sees Loreus being bitten and swiped at by the babies. THe mission - they must secure their loot - Loreus. Every crew member is important.
They take down the larger of the monsters and Hippofilius - somehow transformed into an Elk - bashies into the last baby and it falls dead. Theo throws his hands up to the roof and holds a rather wobbly load-bearing branch in place as Xan and Helikaon hunt the nest for treasures.
