Session 93: 26th April 2022 - Sense
Xan sees her friend collapsed on the sandy floor beneath her.She crouches down and shakes Alke to awaken her. As she comes round she looks fearful, of Xan?
“Are you okay?” Xan asks, knowing that Alke for sure is not. She looks so small and timid. Alke asks is Xan is her friend - “Yes, I am, if you are mine. They consider what happened, looking around for their friends. Theo is still blinking in and out of existence, but his amulet lies in the sand.
As Xan moves over to the rest of the group she feels a little more together. She grabs the amulet and spots other shining glints in the sand - her first dory on the shore. Moving closer to the rest of the group, and poor Helikaon, she sheepishly picks up the other of her dory. Helikaon does not seem to notice.
Damon and the genie reappear at the shore, and Xan instantly calls them out to blame for the fight. Damon seems to not know what was happening - but summises Lutheria was responsible.
Damon confirms that Xan did not in fact kill Theo, but mutliple illusions. She is delighted - he would be so angry with her if she killed him. And she would have to lok after the egg on her own.
Thankfully Theo appears on to the beach and walks up to the group. He looks wounded and confused. Xan talks her way around the ‘killing him’ situation, and hurridly hands him his amulet. He unexpectedly snatches it from her hand, very unlike him. He speaks with Damon about the ethereal plane, he wasn’t sure about going there and whether he will ever visit again.
Xan approaches Calliope and subtly tells her about the ancient mariners beliefs about ‘goodbyes’. Uttering certain words, doomed the voyage, keeping the ship from returning to shore. Calliope glances at Damon, says she understands, but she may have one more goodbye before she leaves.
Xan plugs her ears and walks back over to Theo, to help drag him into the rowboat and get him back to the ship. He moans the while time, instructing her why she is doing it wrong.
As the party discuss their requirements for spells, with Xan yelling for disguises over the group.
When they return to the ship, Xan returns Theo to his cabin and starts to settle in hers, bravely holding back some emotions she is nto yet ready to deal with. Before she properly winds down, she walks slowly down the corridor towards Calliope and Versi’s room, but from the sounds of it, she is not there. Xan walks back to her room and spends the rest of the night resting.
