Session 131 - 8th August 2023 - Return them to me

As the day drew to a close the festivities began on the beach. Pholon pulled cider from the golden apples, a fire is lit and joyful laughter dances out across the white sands. The fire lights it up a beautiful shimmering golden colour and the water sparkles.

Some of the crew are fishing, some have hunted (respectfully) and others are wrestling and drinking, gentle games and a heated game of beach volleyball. Some of the crew play 20 squares in the sand. Pholon however is not to be found in the middle of his usual environment.

Xan sits with the crew around the fire, her sandals kicked off and bbundled up with her cape, thinking on her day and the peace on this island. She watches Theo throw a dish of straw and mud across the sand. It hits Pholon in the side but he does not regard it. Theo jogs over to him as quick as her legs would take him on the sand and looks up at his friend.

After a long chat Pholon thumps Theo on the shoulder - it looks affectionate. They must be doing that bonding thing. Xan shifts in her seat and pushes her feet into the sand as the crew around her jostle and hang off of each other.

Pholon and Theo break into a game, throwing the contraption that Theo launched at him. They laugh and shout joyfully.

Xan stands and walks back to the shore to return to the boat and hopefully spend some of her time alone with her swords, or perhaps find Nhehnen to reminisce about their time on the Island of Exiles.

As she thinks of them, as if by magic her friend from home appears. Holding their belongings.

It appears through conversation that Nhenen wants to live on this island of peace. They are leaving. Xan expresses her sadness that they wish to depart, as they are the only one who understands her past.

Nhehnen sighs. They have fought for their existence ever since they went to the Island of Exiles, they were ostrocised and arrested in the cities for their thoughts. They don’t want to share the knowledge of the alchemist’s fire with those who can cause harm.

Xan agreed. The world needed to continue. She noted that she didn’t want things to end either, didn’t want to harm or kill others but if they needed to they would fight fire with Enhanced Alchemist's Fire. She promised that she would return it to them if there was any remaining at the end of the battle.

Nhehnen disappeared into the treeline, and Xan gently waved as they vanished. She looked back at the revellers on the beach and thought for a second to return to them, but instead continued her way back to the island.
