Session 152 - The Fearless
24 Vallion
The elves scattered across the battlefield look as expected, torn and tattered and come unable to stand. Xan stares into the eyes of one of the statues. They look pained. A woman, covered in moss, seemingly standing here for decades. Xan walks over to the elves and tries to help them recover and reform into a huddle.
Pythor approaches, and introduces his daughter as the elder of two of his daughters. One was Enora and one Orphea - this child. She was brought back to flesh by Hexia with the goal of hunting her on the full moon. She claims she was travelling with her mother in a carriage and was attacked and she was petrified by a half woman half snake. She says her sister was annoying, trying to make friends with her friends and bothering her. But it seemed to not matter now.
Alke asked her what she would do now. Pythor asked that she stay with him. Xan suggested they stay on the boat although it would be unsafe, it would be the best place for her to be by her father. He says he wishes the people in the first to be left with the promise he will return for them.
Braz brings up the sea monster at the edge of the island. The elves speak up.
“Sometimes you would see a huge shadow lurking in the bay
It never approached the land for there was nothing here it wanted.
Some of my parent’s generation entered the water, desperate and curious, but not all of them survived. The ones that came back said there was a great and terrible power in the seas.
It was curious and asked us about our relationship with Hexia, the one who hunts.
They got it into their head that if we gave sacrifice to this creature then it would fight. It took those sacrifices for a year, still promising it would help but it never did.
Yet another resident of this island not to trust.
It had no interest in the land, and was not afraid of Hexia.”
Calliope shoots into the airs and checks on the Ultros - it still sits undisturbed in the bay and no shadows are appearing in the water.
The elves mention that they have travelled to the outcrop and hunted for the beast in the tunnels at the rocks, but they had to return before they reached the end. A dark spot in their history.
Xan invites the elves to join them on the ship. They speak of serving them, but Xan suggests this is not the case. She speaks about the agreement the crew have with their own and invites them to join. Braz amps them up with praise and assures them they will be a welcome addition to the team.
Hipofilius brings them teeth from the dragon to wear around their necks. Xan helps some with the knots and they begrudgingly allow her to support them. The new recruits name themselves The Fearless, led by Patria and Darok. The Chosen and The Fearless walk together with their treasures down from the glade back to their village.
