Description
A demon of ancient infamy. Ramaloch's repeated appearances throughout history bear similar heraldry.
Ramaloch is a demon of Corruption. Its specialty rests in poison, with the intelligence to apply them to devastating effect. It commands minions to fulfill its goals, acting with a deranged glee in the execution of its schemes.
Within the Campaign
Liutubang first encountered Ramaloch's machinations at the Yaopai Monastery. It flooded the surrounding area with a noxious gas produced from its own smoking pipe. This gas evoked nightmares in those who inhaled it, with a risk of cursing them to an unwaking slumber. Though it would have bested the party in any conflict, it seemed willing to grant them this win once they had defeated its minions.
Ramaloch would not reappear until the Picket Auction. For reasons unknown, it turned the auctionhouse into a deathtrap with the aim of eliminating Yu Huang. It produced the Kingsbane poison to render them helpless while incentivizing those around them to seek and murder the Yu Clan heir.
History
The first records of Ramaloch were compiled in the wake of the Hollow Wars. Ramaloch's name appeared repeatedly across Averus, attached to cities devastated by poison and disease and battlefields where wounds would fester within seconds of opening. Though widespread, his attacks were strategic and effective. Most believe he either answered directly to the demon lord Theelsanat or another demon that did.
During the Hollow Wars, he was slain by a paladin of Kiyam.
Most recent in memory was the extinction of Ogboso in Uyongo, Dreushai.
The Extinction of Ogboso
Dated to the year 3777, a general of the army of Ogboso sought the means to strengthen his troops. He solicited a deal with Ramaloch to devise an alchemical solution. This concoction utilized demon blood, and steadily transformed those who drank it. Once the effects became visible in mutations on the body, some had the capacity to flee the general's command. Many of those who tried were slain by those caught in the thrall of their corruption.
The army cannibalized itself, and fell upon the very people they were said to be fighting for. Ogboso was devastated beyond recovery. Survivors were forced to join new communities, as even the land their homes were build on had been transformed.
