Actor by Trade

An acclaimed actor and the heir to the Yu Clan, Yu Huang debuted in the public eye at a young age. Their every movement is scrutinized by all who love and all who despise them.

Though Yu Huang resisted their birthright, they have made a change in recent years to accept their place in the Yu Clan. They exchanged this with their acting career, a choice that brought despair to their most enthusiastic of fans.

Out of the public eye, Huang has been serving the family business for far longer. They act as a sniper for the criminal organization Serpentine, and have stepped into a leadership role in sync with their movements in their Clan.

Within the Campaign

Multiple members of Liutubang knew Huang before the campaign began. Foes Quillspring met them at the start of their acting career and grew to loathe them for the physical conflict that broke out between them at that meeting. Lau Xiulan worked alongside Huang as part of her debt to their family, becoming friends and later an object of their affections. Finally, Tamara Faridun knew them through a business contract, first arriving in Quyan to personally deliver their commission.

The party met them in full in the city of Vung Ria during their tour of The Butterfly's Blade. Huang approached to greet the party after recognizing Loveless and identifying Tamara, though they were less cordial with Foes. At this time, Huang warned Loveless of the trouble that she was in. This would come to fruition when they accompanied Yu Atsushi on the mission to retrieve her and bring her back to Serpent Gardens.

Despite their role in her capture, Huang later helped break her free again.

Yu Huang was masked on their next encounter, once again alongside Yu Atsushi. Though initially remaining passive, they became violent after a use of enchantment magic by Vic'tel Vianrodeth (Chim). They would meet again soon after, this time unmasked, in the Unknown. Huang teamed up with Liutubang to find and rescue Atsushi. This brought Huang to better trust Liutubang, especially through a friendship with Tamara Faridun.

Huang was once again an opponent to Liutubang in Death's Door. Attempting to escape the influence of Yu Qiang, they pursued an artifact, Scopophobia, within this lair. Disguised as Baozang and unidentified to all but Loveless, they initially played as friends to the party. Once they learned this group had been sent by Yu Qiang, Huang initially tried to run off with their prize and defended it with violence. They fled the party through the streets of the city but ultimately were defeated. Liutubang would only learn who was under the mask after.

Later, to mitigate the consequences of Death's Door, Huang hired Liutubang with Niraj's encouragement for support at Unknown. Here they sought the strings that matched Scopophobia. Huang debuted into the criminal underworld here. They also came under attack by demons of Corruption as Ramaloch turned the auction into a death trap.

During the events of The Circus, Huang was present as they searched for Atsushi. Yu Qiang arrived to force them to come home, an action that Liutubang retaliated against. This brought about the eventual burning of the Bhatt family home, and the revelation to Huang the hand Liutubang unwillingly held in their misfortune.

Enraged and vengeful, Huang turned on Liutubang. They stole Tamara's gun, Parting Gift, and offered a business deal to Unknown. They also allied with Atsushi to send the forces of both Serpentine and The Yu Clan after Liutubang. Their machinations led to the arrest of the party.

Huang soon came to regret their hand in Liutubang's capture. They sought to mitigate the damage by voicing an endorsement of Liutubang as a shikar sect. Following their release, Huang apologized and then stated that they intended to keep a distant relationship with the party from then on.

This persisted through the following year. Huang married Niraj Ashtikar and discontinued their acting career. Since stepping into their role as young master of the Yu Clan, Huang has taken on a coldly professional persona. This distance was revealed to be due to Huang's persistent paranoia, especially after learning that Atsushi was under severe demonic influence.
